Lions Clubs International is the fastest growing service club in the world.  The primary purpose of Lionism is to provide service to our communities and to have fun doing so.   Since 1917, Lions clubs have offered people the opportunity to give something back to their communities.  From involving members in projects as local as cleaning up an area park or as far-reaching as bringing sight to the world's blind, Lions clubs have always embraced those committed to building a brighter future for their community.

Today, with more than 46,000 clubs in 193 countries and geographical areas, Lions have expanded their focus to help meet the ever-increasing needs of our global community.

Our programs are continually changing to meet new needs and greater demands, but our mission has never wavered:  "We Serve."

As a Lions Club member you will experience:

·         A network of people who share common interests and a commitment to service, making an impact on your local community

·         Pride in commitment to demonstrate the Lions' motto, "We Serve"

·         Personal growth & leadership opportunities through mentoring and training programs

·         Fellowship with worldwide members at International Convention & exchange programs

·         Extension of local efforts through Lions Club's International Foundation helping others around the world

Service projects of the Aurora Lions Club include:

·         Providing eyeglasses for people who can't afford them.

·         Sponsoring people to receive cataract surgery from the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank

·         Serving as Money Managers for the 9 Health Fair

·         Supporting many local and international community service projects

·         Providing vision screening for pre-schoolers and kindergarten students in the Aurora community
